Saturday Seven

Seven great things that have happened to me since leaving Duke Eye Center:

1) Relaxing. The greatest tribute to my relaxed state is Andy telling my "bosses" Chris & Tim how happy he is that I work for them because of how relaxed I have become. There are so many things that roll off my back. I still get "tight" (no other way to describe it other than tight) from time-to-time but I am experiencing those feelings on a less frequent basis.

2) Finding a great part-time job that is allowing me to "explore" my life. For the first time in my adult life, I feel like I have a life. I am able to visit friends & family in the evenings & not feel rushed to get home to go to sleep.

3) Enjoying my home. Not that I did not enjoy it before, but now I feel like I am actually living in it - not just sleeping there. I have made some decorations for the house (inside & out). And, I am doing a better job of keeping it tidy (not that it was a pigpen before) - and the Dyson vacuum my mom gave us for my bday/Christmas present helps!

4) Learning to live on less money. Yep, I count that as something great. How much "stuff" do you actually need? We still eat well; have fun; but are not controlled by keeping up with the "Joneses" whomever they are.

5) Having more holiday time this year...but it has vanished quickly. Have not had the opportunity to bake like I had hoped this year. I also still have 4 presents to mail out...stockings to hang on a mantle that needs painted & hung...oh well, I am not going to fret about it (see #1 today).

6) Having more time for family & family celebrations.

7) Being matched with our little boy "S".

Merry Christmas!!
