Holiday Spirit

A couple weeks ago, I posted 7 things I am looking forward to before the end of the year. The first 3 items on the list come & gone....and we only did 2 of the 3.

We went to the Raleigh Christmas Parade. It was a lot of fun, not as cold as I thought it would be, and a new tradition in the Wood household.

As you can see, we did make it to the beach for Thanksgiving with the Wood side of the family. The only people missing were Jon (he'll be home from Iraq in a couple of weeks - for good - yeah!!!) and Justin (he just started a new job & was unable to get the time off). A great time was had by all & the food was super yummy. The Wood clan is super blessed with some great cooks - and not all of them are female.

We did not make it to the WRAL tower lighting last night :( However, I hope all of you were able to see it b/c they made it part of their 6 o'clock news broadcast. I think in the past the tower lighting did not occur until 7pm. We had to go out to Wendell to pick up my car from our mechanic & take it to Saturn - Randy (our super mechanic & who's extremely HONEST) was unable to fix the timing belt (due to not having all parts & tools he needs for my engine - cause it is different, go figure!).

I am currently working on decorating the house, and am about 90% done. I will take some pictures later & post them. And, please don't hate me, but I won the holiday decoration lottery. I left the lights on the tree last year & forgot about it. When I pulled the tree out of the bag on Sunday, I got the best surprise ever to see the lights on the tree!!!!!!!!! That one act of service to myself helped to make my holiday a little brighter.

Happy December 2!!! Also, an early happy birthday to Kathryn.
