Andy & I are thrilled to announce we have been matched with a child!!!!! Our little boy is 3 yrs old.
We were referred right before Thanksgiving for our little boy. I knew as soon as I opened the profile from our social worker that our family was a "perfect" fit for him. I talked to his social worker the Friday before Thanksgiving, and told her why our family was right for him. We had our first visit the Wednesday after Thanksgiving - we met with his social worker "C" and his guardian ad lietem before going to his daycare.
At the daycare, we watched as he played with his friends & rolled around in the sand. This past Monday, we visited him in the home he is currently living in (he lives with an older aunt & uncle). Andy & I were nervous - we did not know what to expect. The visit exceeded our wildest expectations.
His aunt has been preparing him for a new mommy & daddy. He already refers to us as Mommy & Daddy. He talks to his aunt about us, and has told his preschool teacher that he has a new mommy & daddy.
Andy & I are truly blessed and extremely thankful for this precious gift God has entrusted to our care. Everything we have experienced in the last year was to get us to this point. We have experienced several humbling experiences and are "richer" for those experiences b/c we are closer to God.
We look forward to introducing you to our little boy "S".

Lydia, we are so excited!!!!!! It is so amazing to see & feel God working in our lives. We have been so blessed to have so many wonderful come into our lives over the last year - that includes you & Hannah. Thank you for being on this journey with us.

Truly what a blessing and gift. I am "over the moon" for you guys. JJ and I liked you guys right away in class way back in February. I have no doubt that you will be wonderful loving parents. You are genuine and kind, this couldn't have happened for a more deserving mommy and daddy. I can't wait to hear all about "S".

Do you need anything for your new arrival? Is someone giving you an adoption shower?
Lydia, still trying to figure out what we may need. "S" will be here to live on the 29th. After that I should have a better idea of what I need. As far as I know, no one has mentioned a shower yet??
