Another New Beginning

Yesterday was my last day at Duke Eye Center. I turned in my letter of resignation on June 9, and it was official yesterday.

Many of you are probably asking why and what will I being doing?

First to answer why: Because of the disconnect I have felt for the last 6-8 months between my personal life and who I am Monday - Friday. I have been looking for a new job for the last 6-8 months, so this was not a decision made on a whim or lightly. Then, some things occurred at work during May that really shed light on my whole employment situation, and it was then that I realized that I needed to make a change. So, Andy & I are stepping out in faith as we enter this new chapter of our life. I do not currently have a job, but I am applying for jobs and have some interviews pending.

I am tired and burned out on healthcare. I need a chance to rest & be available for my family. I need a new challenge professionally - one that will allow for me to work in the community in which I live, Raleigh. Though, Cary is not out of the question.

As to what I will be doing: I am not really sure at the present moment. I am actively seeking a new employment situation. I have several applications and interviews pending.

This is a great opportunity for both myself and Andy. I am going to use the time to do chores around the house, cook (which I love to do but have not really had the time to so), and reconnect with my husband and our friends.

If anyone knows of any opportunities, leave a message here on the blog or send me an email.

Wow, what a change! You are going to LOVE being home! I remember quitting work before we ever had a baby and people thought I was weird. But, for the first time our house was tidy, and I could cook better meals. I felt like I could finally learn to be a REAL wife and soon to be mommy! I will pray about your job situation if you REALLY want one:) What are you looking for- obviously not healthcare?

PS Hannah is NOT doing well. Still in the hospital with a probable blood disorder.
