I realized that I have not updated our adoption status since the TPR in March. We are well on the way for the adoption to be finalized by the end of June 2009. Yippee!!! I remember when June seemed so far away. We have retained the CHS attorney, filed a motion in Alamance County to waive the 90-day waiting period, and Christy ("S" social worker) has mailed all the paperwork from Alamance County DSS to the CHS office in Greensboro.
Christy & Janice were both here for a visit this past Tuesday. They indicated that there was the very real possibility that things could even be completed by the end of May...but we are content with thinking that all will be finalized by the end of June.
To say we are excited is a gross understatement. Not that we ever doubted any of this in terms of the adoption, but when we receive the adoption decree we will "officially" be a family!!!! And for me, that will be a day that will be celebrated from that day forward. Plus, I can not wait to send out announcements to introduce you all to "S".
In other news today...
I have started a new part-time job back in ophthalmology (just not at Duke). I am still working for JumpBunch (www.jumpbunch.com) 2 days/week and doing all the scheduling for them.
Andy is enjoying being back at Fore-Par and the new challenge of being the go-to guy for the outside reps in the Southeast.
We're excited b/c MawMaw Karen & Grandpa Jim are coming to visit Memorial Day weekend! "S" talks about MawMaw Karen all the time - even though he's never met her. We're highly anticipating his reaction to meeting her.
Going to the beach in a couple weeks- yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!
